You know? I say a lot. I say a lot because I think a lot.
but lately, I don’t know man.
It feels like I don’t have much to give, and I keep seeing this post floating around: “this is a time where a lot of people around you will begin to lose hope…”
and BITCHHHH, I don’t want to be one of em.
But for real though. It’s so easy to get stagnant, stuck. Especially with everything life will erupt with. It’s easy to lose sight of your goals, or dreams, or you, shit. And that’s not a life worth living.
I say a lot lol.
I’ve wanted to be a lot of different things, and maybe it’s this “identity-based habit” idea influencing my thoughts currently, but okay really quick.
Imagine two people resisting a cigarette. When offered a smoke, the first person says, “No thanks. I’m trying to quit.” It sounds like a reasonable response, but this person still believes they are a smoker who is trying to be something else. They are hoping their behavior will change while carrying around the same beliefs. The second person declines by saying., “No thanks. I’m not a smoker.” It’s a small difference, but this statement signals a shift in identity. Smoking was part of their former life, not their current one. They no longer identify as someone who smokes.”
James Henry, Atomic Habits. p. 32
This is honestly a great read so far. Chapter two, but hey lol.
my point is.
I say a lot. but.
We are what we believe we are; “Believe in yourself,” like for real.
FOR REAL!
I can get down on myself, as we do, about not knowing. And not knowing what exactly? What I want to do for the rest of my life? What career path I want to explore? What the fuck is the stress about babe?? If you knew how the story would play out, you’d never pick up the book. You just got to keep on reading. Believe in the happy endings, because why not? It really is the climb, like Miley said!
That’s the thing about a belief. You’ve got to believe in it when you don’t have proof, when you don’t have any evidence. You don’t have to know. You just got to believe.
“Maybe one day, maybe next year, no do it right now.” LMAOOO. but for real. Stop asking yourself how you’re going to be something, that you already are. Ask yourself what you’re going to do with that knowing, today.
it’s been real y’all.
k bye
