are we??
Hello, happy Friyay Eve. I’ve been meaning to get this new entry out months ago, let’s be real about things here. I had this initial thought in January; drafted the title, without ever really laying out what I’ve got to say.
Brought to you by your public library :)
Use your resources wisely.
Okay seriously, let’s do this.
What is evolution?
Is it actual like beast to caveman? Like you know the story. I know we haven’t actually come to a universal perspective: I mean, it seems like we don’t really consider it too much outside of religious or I guess, non-religious contexts? I guess it’s best to easiest to keep it as broad as possible.
you have to excuse me going from left to right, back down and up to the top again. I figure I’ve got to stop waiting or putting things on the back burner to move forward with my life you know? Like, it’s never going to all make sense, SO, I might as well share the blog.
and that’s how I see evolution.
A natural occurrence over an undetermined period of time.
Things are just going to happen. I think we’ve fallen in love with this idea that nothing will happen unless we make it happen. And there is a lot of truth in that sentiment, it’s also true that being busy isn’t necessarily being productive. 8 billion people just “making shit happen” and we’re supposedly the most evolved we’ve been.
Got me really wondering how the hell we haven’t moved past generic differences such as skin color and/or sexual orientation.
We’ve got some dope ass skyscrapers though.
AHHH!
that’s why I even proposed this idea.
I spoke on it briefly before, this hyper fixation on the past, or as of late, “2016,” I believe that trend has begun to die down. I get the saying that all trends come back around eventually, and while it’s cute, nice to show appreciation for the times and vibes of an era. What does it actually say?
wellllll.
Okay here’s my concept
If evolution is the process by which living organisms change over generations through differences in inherited traits: then what we’ve witnessed has not been evolution. I mean, sure. If we want to go with the whole, “walking on all fours” to walking on two legs theory, like okay. It’s not like we can really go back and see what they were thinking on March 5, 1189, like you can log into X or Facebook and see what’s on everyone’s mind at the top of every hour. It’s so hard for me to just say that we’ve gotten dumber.
Denser. Heavily saturated.
I feel like we’re just watching how far boredom will take a mind. Because damn, are y’all bored? Why the hell do you care if someone’s a lesbian??? Seriously. If there was ever a plot, goodness man.
The greatest thing I guess we’ve done is create sliced bread, I can’t believe you had to slice the whole loaf, but even that seems like a twisted fate. Here’s my final thoughts:
Have we ever created anything that truly made life easier, or are we continuously meeting our demise at our own hands?
I.e.) We create the automobile for quicker means of transportation. Now about 16,000 car accidents occur on a day-to-day basis. Well, you can’t blame the tree (the idea).
Am I saying that they knew this would happen?
NO.
I’m saying when you create solutions to problems without addressing withstanding issues and/or concerns, those solutions tend to get overlooked or neglected by the CURRENT bullshit. Like, dawg.
I don’t know if anything I’ve said has made a lick of sense, so we’ll continue this thought, hopefully in an more organized sense soon. until then,
k bye
