In this economy, you need more than one income

For most of my work experience, I always believed my times of struggle came from simply not making enough. And while there is some truth in that notion; in this economy? Living on one paycheck feels like trying to balance on a tightrope. Where one sick day leaves you scrambled. Do you know how nice it would be to take a day, just to clear your mind?

With rent, gas, groceries, bruh; BILLS—that seem to trend upward month after month, you’d expect the pay to keep up with its pacing. NOOOOOOOPE.

So how are we expected to keep up?

Well—for now. I believe in the multiple income stream. I AM NOT SELLING YOU A PRODUCT LMAO. I’m simply giving reality. I don’t love working 24/7, but having a secondary source of income can become a safety net when the unexpected hits. At least you’ll know you’ve got some extras coming in.

Some people are married, and live in a two-income household.

Some people are business savvy. They know how to create a good or service that performs a sustainable cash flow.. I don’t know lolz.

The thing about extra income is that it doesn’t have to be a crazy number or some massive side hustle. An extra $200-$300/month can make a real difference, and can be made by:

  • A part time weekend shift
  • Food delivery or ride-share
  • Selling items & clothes you don’t use
  • Freelance work that doesn’t conflict with your schedule.

Sometimes it can feel like hustle culture is just the result of capitalism. Or at least fuels its existence. However, the goal isn’t to exhaust yourself or work yourself into the ground. Just knowing you have options, especially if you’re on your own; presents the opportunity to build stability in the midst of chaos. Think more, “for now” or “not the last destination.”

At the end of the day, the cost of living isn’t slowing down. And (if) we continue on this narrow path of greed and consumerism: hopefully not; it’s best to prepare or at least decide the best way to navigate within it. You know what I’m saying?

K bye
