the real world

I feel like I’m always trying to “be honest” and yes, honesty on all fronts so let’s talk about something that we honestly shouldn’t have to, but it’s been a heavy conversation for some time.

The real world is pretty simple on paper. You either work or you don’t. You’re well off or you’re not, or you have and some have not. You go to the grocery store for your week-to-week essentials, and maybe you go daily because you can. Hey: it’s pretty much watching paint dry. All the major issues seem to come from the past or speed in from the future. And whose the latest concern, in terms of economic setbacks of course; the robots. It’s insanity that we know, we know, we know, yet no prevention occurs. Regardless of attempt or not. What does all the stats say about America in the future. THAT WE’RE COOKED, haha.

Okay seriously

Day to day solutions come with lifelong consequences

Listen, I’m not saying I’d rather be catching my dinner on a nightly basis or that I’m complaining about the invention of the Washing Machine. But all the jobs that are about to be lost. It’s so much going on, it’s giving World War X, or whatever that movie is called. It’s hard for me to make anything make sense anymore. All I know is preparation looks different for everyone. For me it looks like:

  • Developing my skills in different areas, areas that are human operated.
  • Don’t freak out
  • Hit the lottery
  • Escape.

Remember I said I’d be honest?

Well honestly, I don’t have a preparation plan.

This is legitimately a terrifying time to be a young adult: with so much unpredictability and a severe lack of experience, in life. My main plan is to protect, prepare, and position myself accordingly. I don’t have to know exactly how that looks, I’ve just got to know what it is. And, it is not this. cause what. This is not it haha.

If you’re like me, and you’re worried about what the job market will look like in the next 5-10 years with the mass introduction to AI, or worried about the inflation that seems to be on a constant upward trend, spend spend spend, is this really capitalism? Alright: hi. Deep breathe, 4 counts in, 6 counts out. We’re going to figure this all out, i promise.

it’s only beginning to turn worse, before it gets better.

k bye,

robyn
